Pablo Picasso: l’eco del mondo

Conservato all’interno del patrimonio archivistico di proprietà dell’Istituto per la Storia dell’Arte Lombarda (Fondo Gengaro, cart. 97, fasc. 03), il presente testo non presenta alcuna indicazione esplicita che aiuti a collocarlo cronologicamente con certezza nella bibliografia della storica dell’arte. Nel saggio l’autrice sottolinea i rapporti del pittore con Ambroise Vollard, importante mercate d’arte e grande estimatore della pittura impressionista e di Paul Cézanne, e i legami dell’artista spagnolo con il mondo della letteratura, che contribuì a consacrarlo grande maestro quado era ancora in vita. Dopo averne tratteggiato gli elementi salienti della sua fortuna critica, la storica dell’arte sottolinea come Pablo Ruiz y Picasso, ancora vivo al momento della stesura del testo, avesse vissuto sul confine di due epoche, i cui contorni si cominciavano faticosamente ad intravvedere.

Preserved within the archival patrimony owned by the Institute for the History of Lombard Art (Gengaro Fund, cart.97, fascicle 03), the present text does not present any explicit indication that it helps to place it chronologically with certainty in the bibliography of the art historian. In the essay, the author underlines the painter’s relationship with Ambroise Vollard, an important art market and a great admirer of Impressionist painting and Paul Cézanne, and the links between the Spanish artist and the world of literature, which contributed to the consecration of the great master quado was still in life.
