Il paesaggio urbano e le Ville Gentilizie della fascia periurbana settentrionale di Milano

Tra il XV e il XIX sec. nel territorio che a nord di Milano si estende fino ai rilievi pedemontani delle Prealpi lombarde sono state edificate numerose ville gentilizie, andando a modificare in maniera significativa il paesaggio agricolo già antropizzato nei secoli precedenti. Il saggio pone in relazione numerosi espetti espressivi della “Civiltà della Villa”, sintesi di ragioni artistiche, culturali, economiche, sociali e di costume, ponendo in relazione alcune di queste emergenze il territorio circostante, talvolta pesantemente segnato dall’industrializzazione e da scelte urbanistiche irrispettose.

The urban landscape and the Gentile Villas of the northern suburbs of Milan

The essay relates numerous expressive aspects of the “Civilization of the Villa”, a synthesis of artistic, cultural, economic, social and custom reasons, relating some of these emergencies to the surrounding area, sometimes heavily marked by industrialization and disrespectful urban planning choices.
