L’archivio del Museo comunale di Pará de Minas (Brasile): quando la passione serve per superare i limiti

Il “Museu Histórico, Documental, Fotográfico e do Som de Pará de Minas” (MUSPAM), creato a metà degli anni ottanta, possiede l’unico Archivio fotografico pubblico della città, costituito, fin dalla sua fondazione, da donazioni di cittadini ed associazioni locali. L’Archivio fotografico di Pará de Minas è importante perché, grazie all’impegno di chi vi lavora e di chi lo dirige per renderne accessibile il patrimonio, documenta le trasformazioni e i cambiamenti sociali, culturali ed urbanistici della città, cresciuta rapidamente, soprattutto durante il XX secolo e i primi due decenni del XXI. Un patrimonio particolarmente ricco e significativo viene qui comparato con fotografie attuali, scattate dai medesimi punti di ripresa per fare percepire immediatamente le variazioni del vasto patrimonio edilizio-architettonico esistente.

The archive of the Municipal Museum of Pará de Minas (Brazil): when passion is needed to overcome limits

The Museu Histórico, Documental, Fotográfico e do Som de Pará de Minas (MUSPAM), created in the mid-1980s, has the only public Photographic Archive in the city, made up, since its foundation, by donations from local citizens and associations. The Photographic Archive of Pará de Minas is important, thanks to the commitment on the part of those who work there and on the part of those who manage it, because it allows you to record, through its photographs, the transformations and social, cultural and urban changes of an increasingly important city that grew rapidly, especially during the twentieth century and the first two decades of the twenty-first century. Thanks to the collaboration of the museum management, it was possible to document and analyze the urban changes, especially in its central area, using the photographs from the archive, which were compared with current photographs while maintaining the same angles.
