L’architettura contemporanea è oggetto di interesse da parte della cultura del restauro da tempi relativamente recenti. Fino ad allora e per un lungo periodo, infatti, si era ritenuto che dell’architettura contemporanea si sarebbe dovuta salvaguardare esclusivamente la funzionalità, ritenendola unico valore di cui essa era portatrice. Nel trascorrere del tempo e nella conseguente necessità di rivedere gli strumenti teorici, preso atto che l’ampliamento del concetto di Patrimonio all’architettura contemporanea imponeva una riconsiderazione dell’approccio disciplinare, sia per motivi di carattere sostanziale, sia di contesto, si sta assistendo ad una progressiva evoluzione del pensiero e degli strumenti che, anzitutto, vuole ricomprendere nel processo di tutela le comunità delle persone che, per collocazione storica e spaziale, sono i naturali referenti e beneficiari del valore patrimoniale di quelle architetture.

Strategies to enhance the contemporary architecture. Heritage community and surveying for protection.

Contemporary architecture has been the subject of interest in restoration culture since relatively recent times. Until then and for a long period of time, in fact, it had been considered that contemporary architecture should only be safeguarded in terms of its functionality, considering it to be the only value that it embodied. With the passage of time and the consequent need to revise the theoretical tools, taking into account that the extension of the concept of Heritage to contemporary architecture required a reconsideration of the disciplinary approach, both for reasons of substance and context, we are witnessing a progressive evolution of thought and tools that, first of all, wants to include in the process of protection the communities of people who, due to their historical and spatial location, are the natural referents and beneficiaries of the patrimonial value of those architectures.
