Il saggio analizza le azioni di educazione antirazzista nei musei tematici sulla schiavitù, a partire dal caso-studio del Museu do escravo situato nella città di Belo Vale. Il presupposto è che gli spazi museali offrano dimensioni formative in grado di promuovere l’empowerment e il rafforzamento culturale dei diversi gruppi sociali, oltre a essere custodi di una memoria che si muove tra passato, presente e futuro.

Antiracist Education in Museum Spaces: The Experience of the Museo do escravo in Belo Vale (Minas Gerais, Brazil)

The essay examines antiracist education initiatives in the museums dedicated to the history of slavery, starting from the case study of the Museu do escravo located in the city of Belo Vale. The underlying premise is that museum spaces offer educational environments capable of promoting the empowerment and cultural strengthening of different social groups, in addition to serving as guardians of a collective memory that connects between past, present, and future.
